Setting Your GDS Language
Travelport Smartpoint provides a valuable feature that can help you transition from one GDS system to another. It enables you to mix and operate multiple system languages in the same record. This translation feature supports a primary and secondary language.
To configure the GDS language:
- Click the Connection arrow in the upper right corner to select your connection. In this example, the connection name is Galileo. Depending on your agency's set up, you may have access to more than one connection.
Tip! If applicable, you can select a different connection and language setting for each Smartpoint application window.
- Click the Primary Cryptic Language arrow to select your primary cryptic language. Galileo (Travelport+) and Apollo are the choices available as the primary languages.
- Optional. Click the Secondary Cryptic Language arrow to select a secondary cryptic language. Galileo (Travelport+), Apollo, Worldspan, Amadeus, Sabre and Abacus are available as the Secondary Cryptic Language options.
The Smartpoint GDS Translator automatically translates formats entered in the secondary cryptic language into the primary cryptic language.
Note: Smartpoint cannot translate all entries, but is designed to assist you in the transition from a competitor GDS to Travelport. Therefore, a limited subset of entries on each GDS system is supported.
See Format Conversions for resources to convert from one host format to another.
